I’m a Registered Psychotherapist in Ontario and a Registered Clinical Counsellor in British Columbia, and my focus is on helping people create relationships that feel genuine and fulfilling—with partners, family members, children, friends, and colleagues. I’ve found that when people have strong, healthy connections, there’s a deeper satisfaction and sense of purpose in life.
Our sense of belonging, of knowing who we are and how we fit in the world, often starts with the experiences we’ve had in our families. That’s why I work from an attachment theory framework, supporting clients as they build self-awareness and self-acceptance within the context of their relationships. I find deep joy in working with parents, helping them cultivate parent-child relationships that are rich, harmonious, and mutually satisfying. For me, it’s all about the power of empathy, validation, and healthy boundaries—offering alternatives to traditional discipline that help foster self-regulation and intrinsic motivation in children.
My approach is integrative. I use therapeutic modalities such as Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals, couples, and families; Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT); Relational Life Therapy (RLT); Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR); Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); Somatic Mind Body Healing; Internal Family Systems (IFS); and Child-Parent Relationship Therapy (CPRT). I also have extensive experience working with adults and children who’ve encountered trauma, providing a compassionate space for healing.
In addition to my private practice, I’ve spent years in the nonprofit sector, particularly in adoption services. My journey as an adoptive parent began in 2005, and it has profoundly shaped my work. Becoming a mother gave me insight into the depth and complexity of a child’s needs and behaviors. I am passionate about helping caring adults understand the meaning behind their child’s behavior, bringing a voice to what’s often unsaid but deeply felt.
